Bayer Leverkusen binds Lucas Alario to 2024

Attacker Lucas Alario remains Bundesligaist Bayer Leverkusen yet. The 28-year-old, who had worn with emigration, extended his contract at the factory club prematurely until 30 June 2024.

His old contract had a term until 2022. Since 2017, the Argentine stands in services of the Rhine countries.

"Of course, we were already aware of how valuable Lucas is for Bayer 04. But his very good last season has awakened the interest of other clubs," said sports managing director Rudi Völler. Alario was involved in 33 competitive games in the past season in 19 goals. Völler: "That's why we are very glad that we could extend the contract."

In the four years at Bayer, the South American in 131 competitive games was 51 times successful and prepared 16 results. "With him and Patrik Schick as a central attacker, we are well positioned for our ambitious goals," said sports director Simon Rolfes.

Alario Self Inquired: "The club is very professionally situated, and we want to reach a lot together. For this we also have a really good team. In the coming season we want to attack in all three competitions."
