God of War: Ragnarök should set closing point - for good reason

Fans can barely expect the release from the coming PS5-hit God of: Ragnarök. However, the game will set a closing point for the franchise - for a good reason, as the Game Director has announced.

With God of War: Ragnarök is the successor to the award-winning PS4 hit in the starting blocks - even if currently no solid release date is known. After the first gameplay trailer, the Game Director Cory Barlog has now revealed a bit more about the game - and explains that Ragnarök (for the time being) will pull a line under the franchise .

God of War: Ragnarök will complete reboot

In an interview with Youtuber Kaptain Cuba, Game Director Cory Barlog announced that God of was: Ragnarök would conclude the adventure of Kratos and Atreus in the world of Nordic mythology . As the reasons, he adopted both the development time and the action of the games. (Source: YouTube)

According to Barlog, the development of God of War (2018) needed around five years - as well as the Squel God of War: Ragnarök. At this pace, would have expected a trilogy for 15 years of development time , which would simply have been a too long period for Barlog. In addition, the story of Kratos and Atreus and their meetings with the Nordic gods could now be narrated in two games. By another entry, the story may have been slightly diluted.

PS5-hit: How is Kratos continue?

Waiting for God of War: Ragnarök thus gets a bitter sweet for fans: Finally, the game will set a final point under the franchise at least for the time being. As it should go on with Kratos and possibly also Atreus, is not clear. Due to the huge success of the series , an irrefutable end for the characters but rather unlikely . But it looks at least as if God of War was back to Ragnarök again a new direction - probably with a belonging waiting time between the games.

Show you here the gameplay trailer to God of War: Ragnarök on:

Maybe Kratos could turn to farmer mythology and travel for example to Asia or Egypt. Maybe it will return him back to the Greek Pantheon in the Greek Pantheon. First of all, he must of course have to face the dawn in Ragnarök.
